Sustainability Policy
The "Eco-Gastronomy Saunas Las Cumbres" hotel, is located in the Municipality of Zunil, Quetzaltenango, Guatemala and currently has hotel and restaurant service, spa, fitness area, recreation area, lounge events and multiple uses, is surrounded by volcanoes: Zunil, St. Thomas and in the foothills of the majestic volcanoes Santiaguito, Santa Maria, with a height above sea level: 2077.66 meters, the climate ranges between 14 ° and 24 ° C (entre57 and 75 ° F).
Las Cumbres, seeking to maintain and preserve the natural environment in which the hotel operates, in October 2009 decided to form part of the process for obtaining certification of Deal and the Great Green Rainforest Alliance Green Seal which successfully managed to get such a certification recognition and reward by obtaining the same in July 2010. It is the first and only certified hotel in the region of Quetzaltenango.
It’s easy to get to Eco-Saunas Las Cumbres from Guatemala City, with two road options: take the Interamerican Highway and road route to the Pacific. Then travel a distance of 200 miles and take the CA-1, Inter-American Highway. Or else drive about 217 miles, plus18 km from the city of Quetzaltenango, and 2 km Tunnel Santa Maria de Jesus. Las Cumbres with a personalized service, is an unforgettable place where you can enjoy a break away from the smog and noise of the city, surrounded by mountains and green forests full of flora and fauna that make it even more attractive.
It is noteworthy that after achieving the certification of Deal and the Great Green Rainforest Alliance Green Seal, the hotel management is concerned with maintaining continuous improvement in its full context in order to maintain the privilege of being a recognized company of global certification.
Its main feature is the saunas that provide many therapeutic benefits: eliminates toxins and strengthens the immune system by increasing the defenses, and can remove viruses and even tumor cells. In addition, the water comes from natural sulfur sources.
A traditional building with rustic details such as stone, brick, wood and clay tiles complement each architectural space, creating a cozy atmosphere with colorful textiles from different regions of the country decorating every room of the hotel, distinguished by our beautiful gardens and green areas that enhance our ecological ideal.

• We manage the business in an orderly, fair manner and in compliance with laws and regulations of Guatemala. We now have all operating permits.
• We protect the environment in all of our endeavors, within which we mention the classification of waste, we use bath soaps and biodegradable cleaning supplies, we think about conserving resources by saving energy, and controlling the consumption of water.
• We understand that sustainability is the result of integration and balance between money, the environment and the social aspect of their environment, collaborating with aid applications to the community seeking for the welfare of it.
